Actor Choi Woo Sik talked about working with After School's UEE!

He sat down for an interview with Star News and said, "UEE noona doesn't have a boyfriend right now. I'm not in a relationship either, so I was happy that I'd be dating UEE noona in the drama. I dated her vicariously through my character in the drama. When else would I ever have the chance to date UEE noona? It wasn't actual dating, but personally, I was happy. UEE noona probably didn't like it too much, but I was satisfied."

Choi Woo Sik also discussed why he showed so much affection for UEE during their 'Taxi' interview. He explained, "I don't know why I said that back then. I think it was because I was so focused on the drama. UEE noona helped me a lot. She even led the romantic scenes. I liked all the romantic scenes I had with UEE noona, like the kiss scene or the hug scene. I want to work with UEE noona again. If they ever make a season 2, only noona has to give her permission."

150122 After School's Uee Discusses Her Ideal Type With @Star1

After School's Uee will be making her much-awaited return to television in tvN's upcoming drama A Pushover's Love. To promote the drama, the acting idol and her fellow cast members participated in a celebratory photoshoot for @Star1's February issue.

Uee, 2AM's Seulong, Choi Woo Sik, and Lee So Kyung looked like old school friends while modeling in the light gray set. The group posed within waves of colorful confetti and huddled together while surrounded by red and white balloons.

The women wore raincoats, lace blouses, jeans and round-tip heels. The men wore casual shorts, blouson coats, jeans and sneakers. One of the standout wardrobe pieces was UEE's Lucky Chouette shirt, which resembled expensive leather. In the accompanying interview, UEE discussed her ideal type. She revealed, "Before, I used to like masculine men who could protect and hold me, but I changed a lot as I got older. I like nice men better now. Instead of just being protected, I now like types that I can hug. Even if it's frustrating sometimes, I want to date someone nice."

A Pushover's Romance is based on the webtoon Fool's Love by Yoo Hyun Sook, the same writer of the Flower Boys Next Door webtoon. Pyo Min Soo, the director of Full House, Iris 2 and Heartstrings, will head the drama. Meanwhile, Yoon Nam Joong, who wrote the KBS drama God of the Workplace, is the screenwriter. With such an amazing cast and production team, expectations are high for the drama.

140808 UEE faces cruel reality by cooking her friend Mary in “Laws of the Jungle”

The sole female member After School UEE has to experienced the cruel reality of survival at the very first night of her lone expedition.

As the night falls and hunger strikes upon UEE, she has left with no choice but to cook her only companion, a quail which she named Mary, that given to her by Kim Byung Man. During the broadcast, UEE has a sorrowful expression while cleaning and preparing Mary to be cooked.

Lying in front of her is a dead Mary, warm-hearted UEE commented, “Now you”re not my friend, but a quail,” expressing her sadness over her decision.

140720 Uee Feels Sorry for Causing Others to Worry Over Her Injury on “Law of the Jungle: Indian Ocean”

After School‘s Uee has left a lasting impression on the viewers of “Law of the Jungle: Indian Ocean” with her courageous and considerate nature.

As previously reported, Uee was searching for food with the cast when she was hit by a large wave, causing her to fall down and hit her head against a rock. She suffered a head injury, and an open wound in her scalp begun bleeding heavily. Although she received first aid immediately after the accident, the deep cut caused others to constantly worry over Uee and her health.

Although the cast was surprised and worried over the sudden injury, Uee continued to smile and stayed strong even while receiving a shot to treat her wound. Feeling sorry for causing others to worry, Uee shed a few tears after returning to the base camp.

140720 UEE gets injured on her head on “Laws of the Jungle”

On the latest episode of SBS ‘Law of Jungle in the Indian Ocean’ aired on July 18th, After School”s Uee got a major injury on her head and underwent an emergency surgery for the wound.
On that day, while ‘Byungman family’ (Kim Byung Man, Uee, Kim Seung Soo, Kang Ji Sub, Park Hee Soon, Niel, and James) were standing on the cliff to enjoy the view of a beautiful ocean, suddenly a big wave slammed onto the cliff made Uee fell down and her head hit the rock. The casts were shocked to find Uee lying unconscious and they stopped filming right away. 

After the doctor checked on her wound, Uee got stitches for her head and shoulder injury. James and Kang Ji Sub were moved to tears for worrying her.
In the interview after the accident, Uee showed tears saying “I felt as if I were floating in the air, and felt blank. It was fine to get wound, but I felt sorry for members worrying me. It feels bad to make people worry”.

140712 After School’s Uee Shows Her Pilates Workout on “Law of the Jungle”

The first episode of SBS’ variety show “Law of the Jungle’s” Indian Ocean special, featuring After School’s Uee, Teen Top’s Niel, Royal Pirates’ James, and more, was aired on July 11.

During the broadcast, Uee showed viewers a part of her everyday life and shared, “I don’t really know how to have fun on my days off, so I wake up around 6 AM and go to pilates at 7 AM.”

Then, Uee displayed how she goes about doing her pilates workout. She has been drawing attention for the way she successfully pulls off difficult pilates movements, as well as her extremely flexible and toned figure.

The After School member also made an honest confession, “When I have a schedule, I do it, but when I don’t [have a schedule], I really just stay at home. I don’t wash up for about two days and stay at home. I’m a homebody.”

UEE revealed that she tended to stay home when she had no scheduled activities on the July 11 installment of SBS“s “Laws of the Jungle.”

If I have a set schedule, I just follow that schedule, but when there is no schedule, I just stay home. I just stay at home and wash up every two days; I”m somewhat of a.. a homebody?”

140709 Uee Reveals Her New Nickname On ‘Rules Of The Jungle’

After School Uee revealed her new nickname.

At the SBS Mokdong parking lot, there was a special event for the Indian Ocean SBS “Rules of the Jungle.” Uee, Park Hwi Soon, TeenTop Niel, and Royal Pilots James attended the event.

Uee said, “I received a new nickname. It is not Bagle girl, but Beargle girl. I got used to the jungle so well that they called me Beargle girl.”

The girl Bagle girl was made for girls with baby faces but glamorous bodies. Beargle means bear and girl.

The summer special “Rules of the Jungle” will be on July 11.

131015 UEE and Jung Il Woo confirmed for new weekend drama ‘Golden Rainbow’

After School’s UEE and actor Jung Il Woo have been confirmed as the lead couple on upcoming MBC weekend drama ‘Golden Rainbow’.

On October 14, the production company for the drama confirmed, “UEE, who recently received an offer for lead role, was finally confirmed after adjusting her schedule” and “The male lead that we’ve been discussing for a while has been confirmed to be Jung Il Woo.”

‘Golden Rainbow’ is a drama focusing on the relationships of seven orphans who are said to be closer than siblings related by blood. UEE will be playing the oldest sibling, Baek Won and child actress Kim Yoo Jung is confirmed to play her younger version. Jung Il Woo plays Do Young, who grows up in an estranged family after his father remarries, and later becomes a prosecutor.

After School’s Kahi shared a selca with Uee. On January 5, Kahi tweeted the following photo with the caption, “Came to see Uee, while preparing in the building across! I knew this was going to happen. Do well~congratulations!”

In the photo, Uee is seen wearing the same outfit she wore on today’s show, holding the queue card for KBS “Music Bank,” indicating it was taken before the show aired. Uee partnered up with Lee Jang Woo for her first “Music Bank” MC spot on January 6.

On this day, Uee and Kim Hyun Joong made chicken stew for Brian. They could not hide in their nervousness because Brian is known to have a picky taste out of all guests that came out on the show.

But at Uee’s cooking, Brian said, “My family eats a bit salty usually but this is not as salty and really good. I think if we really get married my mom will love it.”

When Kang Ho Dong asked, “Which do you like better, your mom’s cooking or Uee’s cooking?” and Brian answered, “Uee’s.”

So there are new dramas that will feature K-Pop stars.Two dramas that will be released are “20′s Twenty-Years Old” and “Golden Rainbow.”

For the MBC weekend drama which will begin airing on November, UEE might make her return to the small screen for this drama.

This is not yet confirmed; though if she does take the role, she will play the role as Baek Won who is the oldest of the orphans since the storyline is about the story of seven orphans who goes through hardships that has a bond that is much stronger than that of blood-related siblings.Other casts will be Kim Yoo Jung who will play as her child counterpart and Kim Sang Joong will be playing as her adoptive father.

20′s Twenty-Years-Old


BEAST’s Kikwang will star in the drama “20′s Twenty-Years-Old” which he will work with other actress Kyun Mi Ri’s second daughter Lee Da In who will be following her mother’s footsteps.

This drama will be a four-part Ultra HD mobile drama which Kikwang will suddenly appear in-front of fellow middle school alumnus Hae Rim and initiate a romance between the two.

The drama is looking to be trendy as well as exciting that will tell the lifestyle of those in their teens as well as twenties when it comes to romance.

Drama will be 100% produced using 4K which is Ultra HD for sharp as well as clear beautiful imagery.

Romance and fantasy will be the genre of this drama; though there will be a high amount of reality and the casts played in this will not change.Kikwang will play as a character that has a lovely and pure heart who tries to win the heart of his first love even though he is a idol star.

130924 After School’s Uee Shows Off Impressive Shuffling Moves

On January 6, After School’s Uee debuted as the main MC of KBS “Music Bank,” alongside actor Lee Jang Woo. To celebrate their new MC roles, the two stars put on a joint performance of “The Time of My Life” from the movie OST of “Dirty Dance.”

During the performance of the song, which was rearranged by Shinsadong Tiger to involve a lot more electronic beats, Uee showed off her sick shuffle dance moves, bringing the whole crowd to their feet. Lee Jang Woo played the DJ role, spinning at the DJ booth on the side.

After the stage, Uee said, “It feels refreshing to be the main MC of ‘Music Bank.’ We’ll do our best to spread K-Pop around the world.” At the press conference held prior to the show, Uee echoed similar comments, saying, “It’s just an honor to be the host of KBS’s main music program, ‘Music Bank.’ I’m a bit nervous and feel the pressure since it’s my first MC role, but I’ll do my best. Please keep supporting me, even if I make a lot of mistakes.”

After School’s UEE appeared as a guest on the talk show “Hwashin” and cleared up rumors about sponsorship and supposed photos of her as a bar hostess.

On the show, UEE talked about what comes up the most when you search her name on the internet. One of them was “UEE Sponsor.” Rumors that UEE had a rich sponsor had been circulating the internet.

The singer denied the sponsorship, “One day my shocked friend confronted me about it and said, ‘So even UEE has this kind of side to her.’ The friend even went up to me and asked if it was the truth…I was worried that if I left it alone it would become like a truth so I looked for an opportunity to explain. I modeled for advertisements like cellphones and chickens, but I think the rumors were started.”

UEE also clarified rumors about her being a bar hostess in the past. One of the other search results of her name was ” UEE’s hostess photo.” There were photos on the internet of UEE being involved with men and acting like a bar hostess. Despite being photoshopped, rumors that UEE used to be a bar hostess began to spread. She said, “At first I was so angry I looked for the users behind the photos.”

Expecting anti-fans, UEE was surprised to find that the netizens who created the photos were just elementary school students or stay at home moms. To protect the identity of those mischievous netizens, UEE decided not to pursue legal action.

130911 After School's Uee Expected a Love Line with Either Kim Hyung Joon and Yoon Shi Yoon

Uee of After School revealed that she had expected a love line with either of her “Barefoot Friends” costars, “Kim Hyun Joong and Yoon Shi Yoon.”

Uee appeared on an episode of “Hwashin” as one of the guests and talked about how she was not very popular with male celebrities because she lacked aegyo. She told the MCs, “Am I that scary? Male celebrities have never contacted or approached me.”

The MCs then asked her about her regular appearance on the variety show “Barefoot Friends,” and if she ever thought about forming a love triangle with her similar aged cast members, Kim Hyun Joong and Yoon Shi Yoon.

Uee explained, “At first I also expected a love line like Song Ji Hyo and Gary‘s on ‘Running Man.’ But then after we rode a plane together and they got to know my true self, it became impossible to form a love line with anyone. From the first night the male cast members would even take off their shirt in front of me like it was nothing.”

130910 After School’s Uee Confirmed to Star in ‘Golden Rainbow’

After School member Uee has been confirmed for a lead role in MBC’s new drama “Golden Rainbow” (written by Son Young Mok, directed by Kang Dae Sun and Lee Jae Jin).

On September 9, drama agency May Queen Pictures commented, “Uee couldn’t confirm her appearance the drama because of her overseas schedule, but just recently it’s finally been decided that she will take the role. After making her decision, she even attended an open rehearsal script reading, and met with the other actors and introduced herself to them.”

In the drama, Uee will play the part of Baek Won, who is actually the granddaughter of the CEO of a major company, but is adopted as a child by Han Joo (played by Kim Sang Joong). In the drama she takes care of the 7 adopted siblings. Baek Won is a trouble-maker, but experiences the ocean thanks to Han Joo, and eventually finds success in the fishing industry.

When asked about her feelings regarding the new drama, Uee said, “Since I’m the lead role, there is a lot of pressure riding on me. But as difficult as it is, I’ll try that much harder.”

“Golden Rainbow” is scheduled to follow after “Scandal,” and will be airing its first episode in November.
